Thinking about the next chapter in your child's education? New Hall School is opening its doors — and you're invited.

Join them on Saturday 2 May 2026 for their much-anticipated Open Day at New Hall School, one of England's most distinguished Catholic independent schools, set in a breathtaking 70-acre estate in Boreham, just outside Chelmsford, Essex.

Whether you're exploring options for Nursery, Primary, Senior or Sixth Form, this is your opportunity to step inside one of Essex's most extraordinary learning environments and discover what truly sets New Hall apart.

Experience New Hall for Yourself

There's no better way to feel the spirit of a school than to walk its grounds, meet its people, and hear its story firsthand. On Open Day, families are invited to tour the remarkable campus — centred on the former Tudor Palace of Beaulieu, once owned by Henry VIII — and explore the wealth of facilities that make New Hall such a special place to grow and learn.

From purpose-built nursery classrooms to state-of-the-art sports pitches, equestrian facilities, and an impressive performing arts offering, every corner of the school reflects their commitment to nurturing the whole child.

A School Like No Other

New Hall School is a Catholic independent boarding and day school for boys and girls aged 1 to 19. It operates the highly successful 'diamond model', where students are educated in co-educational classes from ages 1 to 11 and at Sixth Form, while from ages 11 to 16 they are taught in single-sex lessons ISC — an approach that combines the best of both worlds, supporting every child at each stage of their development.

Founded in 1642 in the Low Countries by the Canonesses of the Holy Sepulchre, and relocated to its current home in Essex in 1799, New Hall is one of the oldest and largest Catholic independent schools in Britain — a heritage that infuses the school's culture, values and sense of community to this day.

What to Expect on the Day

  • Guided tours of the stunning historic buildings and modern facilities
  • Talks from senior staff on curriculum, admissions, boarding life and school ethos
  • Meet current pupils and parents who can share their own New Hall experience
  • Explore 100+ clubs and activities — from cricket, golf and equestrian sport to performing arts and STEM enrichment
