A motorcyclist has been taken to hospital with a serious leg injury following a collision on a busy road in Chelmsford.

Emergency services were called to Main Road in the Broomfield area at around 8:30pm on Monday, 13 April 2026, after reports of a crash involving a car and a motorbike.

The motorcyclist was rushed to hospital for treatment.

Essex Police are investigating the incident and have appealed for witnesses. A police spokesperson said:

“If you have any information, CCTV, dash cam or other footage in relation to this incident, then please get in contact with us. Please quote incident 1170 of 13 April.”
