Dear Evan Hansen – Chelmsford Young Gen at Chelmsford Theatre

Chelmsford Young Gen brings the acclaimed musical Dear Evan Hansen to Chelmsford Theatre for five performances from Wednesday 4 to Saturday 7 November 2026.

Featuring a talented cast of young local performers and a live orchestra, this moving contemporary musical explores friendship, family, loneliness, identity and the desire to belong.

The story follows Evan Hansen, a socially anxious teenager whose life changes dramatically when a misunderstanding draws him into another family's grief. As the situation grows increasingly complicated, Evan must confront difficult questions about honesty, connection and finding his place in the world.

The production features memorable songs including Waving Through a Window, You Will Be Found, For Forever and Words Fail.

Presented by the award-winning Chelmsford Young Gen, the show offers local audiences an opportunity to enjoy a major musical performed by some of the area's emerging theatrical talent.
